This demo was Chris Gajewski’s audition for the band. He recorded these drums less than an hour after we met him, never having heard the song before. As you can hear, this is a significantly different arrangement, and . includes an additional verse and an outro (both of which were eliminated from the official version with a fade out after the rap section). Upon hearing this demo in 1999, our friend Bob Kanefsky was kind enough to suggest we replace the line “O’Brien’s gone but still appears on Deep Space Nine” with the infinitely superior “O’Brien’s been reassigned to Deep Space Nine.”
